University Recognition Award Trophy Design

Finalists in a design competition within Edinburgh University, to design a trophy for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) recognition awards.

Our design combined abstracted forms of the CAHSS university buildings with topographic representation of the iconic Arthur’s Seat, to create an intriguing and interactive trophy.

The upper section would’ve been made of cast aluminium, represented in our prototypes with 3D printed PLA, while the base would’ve been cast concrete, represented by layers of laser cut MDF. We used CAD renders (left) and material experiments (below) to further illustrate the actual materials the trophy would be made of, alongside our prototype.
